AUDIO VERSION

Paul discusses the transformative power of the love and grace of Christ, which speaks to the change in our lives when we accept Jesus as our Savior.

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled. Colossians 1:21

Think about what it means to be alienated. It means being cut off, banned, or disconnected. Before knowing Christ, our minds were filled with thoughts and actions that kept us far from God. We were spiritually estranged, caught up in behaviors and mindsets that were opposite to His Word. This separation was not just about our actions but also about our internal state, our very thoughts were at odds with God.

Then comes the turning point: the word reconciled is powerful. It means restoring relations between them and bringing them back into harmony. Through Jesus, God took the initiative to mend the broken relationship. Despite our past and how we might have turned away from Him, God reached out with love and grace.

This reconciliation is not something we earned or achieved on our own. It is a gift demonstrating the infinite love of God for us. The sacrifice Jesus made on the cross bridged the gap that our sins created. Because of Jesus, we are no longer outsiders but beloved children of God.

Living in this reconciliation means embracing our new identity in Christ. It means letting go of the guilt and shame of our past and stepping into the freedom and peace that comes from being in the right relationship with God. It also calls us to reflect His love and grace in our interactions with others, extending forgiveness and seeking to restore broken relationships just as He did with us.

As you go about your day, carry this truth in your heart. You are reconciled, loved, and cherished by God. This awareness should fill you with gratitude and inspire you to live in a way that honors Him, knowing that you are part of His family and forever covered by His grace.

Heavenly Father, as Your child, I am part of Your family, and I am forever covered by Your grace. I will allow this to inspire me to live in a way that honors You. I love You, Father God, and I want to serve You always. Thank You, Father. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
