AUDIO VERSION

Jesus described Himself as the door, the bread of life, the way, the truth, the resurrection, and the life. Jesus knew who He was (and still is).

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. John 8:12

Jesus understood His identity, and we must know ours too.

When we are unsure about our identity, we will be pressured to fit into other molds. They will try to make us what they think we should be rather than how God created us.

Stress comes from trying to be somebody we are not; when we fear, we will accidentally drop our façade, and people will discover who we are.

The way to balance external pressures is to have an internal sense of satisfaction about who God made us to be. We discover who we are by knowing to Whom we belong.

The Bible says God created us. God loves us, and we are accepted as we are. God has a plan for our lives. When we understand this, we will be free to serve others.

Jesus constantly did things that surprised everyone else because He was free; He felt no pressure to meet people’s expectations. Jesus chose to serve others, regardless of how it might be perceived. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples, something they were too insecure to do for each other. Jesus always served others from a position of strength. Jesus knew who and whose He was.

We have security in knowing that we are loved and accepted by God. There is no need to pretend to be anyone else.

Do you want to have the same freedom as Jesus did?

Heavenly Father, I am so very thankful I am Your child, and I have freedom in You. You are my heavenly Father who gave Jesus for my sins that I might be a child of Yours. I have security in knowing that I am loved and accepted by You. There is no need to pretend to be anyone else. This is all because of Your great love for me. Thank You, Father. In Jesus name, Amen.
