AUDIO VERSION

Paul wrote a short but powerful Bible verse that packs a punch. Here is what it says:

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28

Paul takes us on a journey from the past sacrifice of Jesus to the anticipation of His second coming. It is a two fold promise of redemption that we can hold onto.

Jesus took on the sins of many, offering us forgiveness and a restored relationship with God. It reminds us that our sins are no longer an issue between us and God.

The sacrifice of Jesus was a one-time event, but its impact is forever.

Now, shift our focus to the future, the second coming of Christ. This time, Jesus will not be dealing with sin that has already been taken care of.

Instead, Jesus is bringing salvation to those who eagerly wait for Him. It is like the grand finale of the redemption plan of God. We are not just left in the forgiveness stage; we are moving towards the ultimate victory, where sin and death are forever defeated.

It is an invitation for us to live with expectancy. Imagine waiting for a loved one at the airport after a long separation. There is an anticipation, excitement, and a deep longing to be reunited.

In the same way, we are called to wait for Jesus with that kind of eagerness.

What does it mean for us today? It means living in the light of both past redemption and future hope.

We walk in the forgiveness and freedom Christ secured for us, and at the same time, we eagerly await the fulfillment of our salvation when He returns.

We need to be grateful for what Jesus has done and expect what He will do. Living with the joy of redemption in the past and the hope of salvation in the future.

Heavenly Father, as I am Your child having asked Jesus to be Lord of my life; I now live with anticipation of Jesus soon return. I do not want anything to distract me from this awesome life with You. You have provided so much love, joy, and peace for the Believer, and I want to walk in all You have provided. Thank You, Father, for all the provisions for me as Your child. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
