RUN FROM TEMPTATION
But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
When we find ourselves tempted, we need a panic button, an emergency plan that goes into place. The Bible is clear about what that emergency plan is: You run.
“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” (1 Timothy 6:11-12)
The Bible says we need to move away from any situation that causes us temptation. Never play with temptation. We will lose. Emotions take over, and feelings are not always logical.
No matter the temptation, we have to get away, and our responses should always be the same: Run.
Even better than running from temptation is to prevent temptation in the first place. We must make a preventative strategy in advance and not put ourselves in a tempting situation.
Take time today to create a preventative strategy for temptation. When those do not work out, have our emergency plan: Do not resist temptation. Run from it. That is the simplest and surest way out.

Heavenly Father, I so thank You for seeing the full scope of life. The beginning and the end and all in-between. You gave me the way out of any temptation I could ever have, and You have made a way to escape. What love that You have done this for me. I thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
